HEATHER
MCQUAID
WRITER
PRODUCER
Heather is an Innovation Consultant, Writer and Producer whose creative journey sharpened during the 2020 lockdowns, when she set herself the challenge of writing one short story every week for a year.
This disciplined experiment across genres helped her develop a distinctive voice, with a particular affinity for psychological thrillers and dystopian sci-fi.
Her writing has been recognised in literary circles, with several pieces shortlisted for

awards. A standout is her audio adaptation of The Lorelei—inspired by Heinrich Heine’s poem—which was a finalist for The Missouri Review’s Miller Audio Prize for Prose (2021).
In 2023, Heather adapted a short story by another author into a dystopian sci-fi thriller, A Positive Contribution. She collaborated closely with the director to develop the screenplay and co-produced the project. The film has since been selected by over 25 international festivals, winning Best Film and earning nominations for Best Actor, Best Direction, and Best Sci-Fi.
Currently, she is writing Model Citizens, a television pilot inspired by the film, and developing The Space Between Us, a comedy sci-fi short.
