KENNETH

FORMAT 120 minute play with interval
GENRE Period / Tragedy / Dark Comedy
THEMES Relationships, justice, love, desperation
SYNOPSIS
In 1967, Joe Orton was killed after being hit on his head 9 times with a hammer by his lover, Kenneth Halliwell.
Most of the reporting, and history of this event, and their relationship, relegates Kenneth to an unnamed, forgotten figure.
Kenneth takes a deep dive into his experience of the relationship and that fateful night. Can the "villain" of the piece be rehabilitated and brought into the light of our 21st Century understanding of mental health?
