Maria Hristova is a Bulgarian-born, London-based actor working across screen and theatre
She trained at Coventry University (BA Hons Theatre & Professional Practice) and completed an MA in Acting at the University of East London, alongside ongoing professional development with practitioners including Nancy Bishop, Lucy Jenkins and Julian Kostov.
Her screen credits include Silent Witness, Big Boys and The Chelsea Detective. On stage, her work spans classical texts such as Chekhov’s Three Sisters as well as devised, immersive and physical performance. Maria is particularly drawn to character-driven storytelling, comedy and bold, physically expressive work, with experience in clown, cabaret, radio drama and physical theatre.
Maria is currently producing and acting in the short film I’m Here, scheduled for release at the beginning of 2026. Fluent in English and Bulgarian, she works confidently across a wide range of accents and is represented by Patrick Hambleton
